ATTENTION SCOTTIE AND WESTIE OWNERS!

We recently learned of an important discovery regarding cancer prevention in Westies and Scotties.  As you may already be aware, Westies and Scotties have an increased risk for cancer of the bladder (this is one of the things we screen for with an annual urine check.)  The good news is, a recent study published in the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Journal revealed that feeding green leafy vegetables (such as lettuce, spinach, salad greens) or yellow orange vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes, squash) three times a week reduces the risk of bladder cancer by up to 90% in Scotties.  It is probably safe to assume that the same is true for Westies.  It doesn't matter if the vegetables are cooked or not.  So... in addition to a good quality dog food, we recommend you give your pet a serving of vegetables three times a week.
Bon Appetit!
