The "Golden Paws" Canine Senior Care Program is a program designed for dogs that are seven years old and older. Every six months, your dog will come in for a routine physical exam by one or our veterinarians and a number of different diagnostic tests (urinalyses, fecals, blood work, eye exams and x-rays). These exams and diagnostic tests will help detect problems in your senior dog before they appear or become serious. The other emphasis of the program is preventative care and wellness. This part focuses on nutrition, weight management, and dental hygiene.
The cost of this preventative health care program is not expensive, and many of the tests and costs have been greatly reduced to make this program possible for all senior pet owners. We do offer a pre-payment plan for all clients interested in joining this program. call our office for more details.
It is estimated that your dog ages five to seven years for every one of yours, which suggests that health problems in your dog can progress at a faster rate. Therefore, we recommend more frequent exams for dogs 7 years of age and older. Thanks to advances in disease detection and treatment, with the right veterinary care, your dog's senior years can be healthy and happy. There is no better time to be a senior dog, so call and set up an appointment for your senior dog today!
