Description

        Gentocin Topical spray is a combination of the antibiotic gentamicin, and betamethasone.  This product is used for infected superficial lesions in dogs accompanied by swelling and/or itching.  The usual dose is 2 sprays 2 to 4 times a day for 7 days.

What is this Medication used for?

        Gentocin topical spray is an antimicrobial and corticosteroid combination used for the treatment of superficial lesions in dogs caused by susceptible bacteria.

What are the side effects?

        Prolonged use of this medication may give rise to the overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms such as fungi or yeasts.  Weight loss, increased thirst and urination, vomiting and diarrhea have occurred in animals following the use of synthetic corticosteroids.

What special Precautions are there?

        Gentocin topical spray should not be used in animals allergic to it.  Treatment beyond 7 days may lead to prolong wound healing.

In the event of an overdose.

        Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

How should I store this medication?

       Store this medication at room temperature away from excess heat and moisture.  Do not store in the bathroom.  Store this container upright.  Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.  Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
