Description   

    Tresaderm is used in dogs and cats to treat infections of the ear and skin due to susceptible bacteria or parasites such as ear mites.  Consult your veterinarian for dosage and administration.  Keep in refrigerator.

Thiabendazole, dexamethasone, neomycin sulfate

What is this Medication used for?

      Tresaderm is a dermatologic solution indicated as an aid in the treatment of certain bacterial, fungal and inflammatory skin disorder and otitis externa in dogs and cats.

What are the side effects?

        On rare occasions dogs may be sensitive to neomycin.  In these animals, application of the medication will result in redness and swelling of the treated area which may last for 24 to 48 hours.  In some instances there is transient discomfort that may last for 2 to 5 minutes after application.

What special Precautions are there?

       Tresaderm is for topical use in dogs and cats only avoid contact with the eyes.  Systemic effects from prolonged use of topical corticosteroids are unlikely.  However, if there is increased thirst, weakness, lethargy or gastro-intestinal disturbances these may be due to salt and water retention caused by the corticosteroid.

In the event of an overdose.

        Contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

How should I store this medication?

        Keep this medication in a refrigerator.  Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer used.  Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
